What are you proposing to do?

Scarborough Town Board and Council as accountable body have developed a ten-year Vision document for Scarborough and an initial three-year Investment Plan which will inform the direction for improvement and growth within Scarborough town over the next ten years.

This Vision and Investment Plan will be submitted to the Department of Levelling Up, Homes and Communities to trigger the release of funding for delivery.

Why are you proposing this? What are the desired outcomes?

Scarborough has been awarded just under £20m Long Term Plan for Towns funding.  The proposal aims to create a sustainable and vibrant future for Scarborough by engaging the community in the decision-making process, ensuring that development strategies address key areas such as safety, high street heritage, regeneration, and transport

Does the proposal involve a significant commitment or removal of resources? Please give details.

The Long-Term Plan Vision and Investment Plan will be used to secure funding that has been awarded to Scarborough and will direct the travel of improvements, growth and investment over the next ten years aligned with the following thematic areas: safety and security; high streets, heritage and regeneration and Transport and Connectivity.

NYC are the accountable body for the funding programme and supplying human resource to support programme management and oversight.

Upon approval of the Long-Term Plan Vision and initial three-year Investment Plan, specific projects will be chosen for delivery. Any internal led NYC projects will require human resource to deliver.

·       To what extent is this service used by particular groups of people with protected characteristics?

·       Does the proposal relate to functions that previous consultation has identified as important?

·       Do different groups have different needs or experiences in the area the proposal relates to?

If for any characteristic it is considered that there is likely to be an adverse impact or you have ticked ‘Don’t know/no info available’, then a full EIA should be carried out where this is proportionate.
